100 Facts About Myself- Day 9

I’ve been playing soccer since I am five.

I have really loved playing soccer all of these years because I have made really great friends, had so much fun, and stayed in shape because of it! Soccer is just a fun sport that I love playing! I love playing both competitively and just for fun in gym. Soccer has taught me a lot about sportsmanship and how to handle yourself when things don’t go as planned. Most of my week and weekends belong to soccer, but I honestly don’t mind at all. Today I had three games in one day, and I am pooped! It was nice to play outdoors for the first time this year as well. I can still remember the time when I first joined my school team in kindergarten and I showed up for practice kinda nervous. My mom talked to my coach and told me to just go have fun and run around with the other girls. Within minutes, I remember having so much fun chasing a ball around that I didn’t want to go home. Now I play for 2 teams, one travel team and a school team. It gets hectic now and then especially with the SATs and AP tests coming up, but I do it because I love it. What position do I play? GOALIE! :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 8

I have worked at the zoo for the past few summers.

I love working at the zoo in my spare time because I love all of the kids that I work with. I work within a summer camp for kids of all ages from 8am-3pm so it’s the same amount of time I would spend in school. It’s so much fun! I get to play games with the kids, I help them do arts and crafts, and help them open their lunch. The kids are really adorable, and plus, all of the other people that work at the zoo are really nice and fun to hang with! I made a lot of really cool friends there. I also went to that summer camp when I was younger, so it means a lot to me that I get to work there and do the same things I loved as a kid. And the animals! Working at the zoo is fun with the animals! :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 7

My favorite color is blue.

I love blue of all shades! Turquoise, baby blue, cerulean, teal, royal blue, cobalt blue, indigo, ultramarine, azure, and so many more! This is partly because I love nature, especially the ocean and the sky. Blue is such a relaxing color. It is also my favorite color to paint with! Last year i made a painting only using various shades of blue. It was a very therapeutic piece to create and look at. I am even wearing turquoise nail-polish right now! I love blue clothes, accessories, and art. Blue is a color a lot of people can relate to as well. That’s probably why I like it. :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 6

I have one sibling, an older brother.

His name is Louis, and we are 3 and a half years apart. A lot of people think its so cute that our names are Louis and Laine. So he’s twenty and in college now. This year he has been studying abroad in Germany. He left in October, came back for Christmas, and he won’t be back until August :( Louis and I are really close, like best friends! We love to do tons of fun stuff together like “Back to the Future” movie marathons, Barnes and Noble runs at all times of the day, heart-to-hearts at 3 in the morning, trips into the city to go to the Strand and eat at Super Taste in Chinatown. We can talk about virtually anything, and he is good at giving me advice. He doesn’t sugar-coat anything, so he will always tell me straight up when I do something wrong. We have very different tastes in music, but his music has grown on me in the past few years. Because of Louis, I have a great love of Queen, the Beatles, David Bowie, the Blue Oyster Cult, and many other bands in addition to my own favorite bands. We have so many other things in common as well! Anyways, since I am really close with my brother, this whole 4,000 mile distance thing SUCKS. Luckily, I saved all of my birthday and Christmas money so hopefully I will get to visit him before August rolls around. I miss you, Louis! :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 5

I love antiques/antique shopping.

I am such an old lady for a seventeen year old. Antique stores genuinely excite me! What can I say? I love looking at antique home decorations and other miscellaneous things like perfume bottles, teacups, clothes and TONS of other stuff. My aunt and I love antiquing in New Jersey and in the city! It’s something fun that I love to because you never know what you will find. I also love watching shows like on the History Channel like “American Pickers”, “Pawn Stars”, and “American Restoration”. I know, I am such a mega nerd but it really doesn’t bother me at all. I love learning about old stuff because its so interesting! :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 4

I keep a fashion journal.

Call me obsessed, but I like what I wear to be perfect. So when ever I have free time or I am just in the mood, I go in my room and put my outfits together to perfection. I plan out the whole outfit from head to toe: the shoes, the top, bottom, how I will wear my hair, even right down to the acessories. After crafting an outfit, I write it down in my fashion journal saying exactly how I will wear it, and I classify it by the ocassion. Some of my catagories include: Dressy-casual, formalish, Stylish-casual, Relaxed, PARTY!, and many many more. I may sound nuts, but it’s actually really helpful. Whenever I need to go somewhere and I need to put my outfit together, I consult my fashion journal. It has saved me a lot of time in the past. I always love putting together a new outfit! :)

100 Facts About Myself- Day 3

I am one of the worst procrastinators around.

You would think that because I really try hard in school that I would have a better plan than waiting until the last minute.  I don’t.  Try as I may, I can never motivate myself to start things early unless its a MONUMENTAL task.  Like tonight, for example.  I have my Pre-calc Midterm tommorrow, and I know I will fail if I don’t study.  But yet, I know I won’t start studying until at least 9 o’clock.  I just can’t get myself to start anything.  I don’t know why I always do this to myself.  When 9 o’clock rolls around, I will be in complete melt-down mode.  Then I will wish that I started studying earlier, but it still won’t get me to change anything.  I guess this is just something about myself that I will have to work on.  And by the way, tumblr is the NUMBER ONE reason I never get anything accomplished.  Thank you, tumblr :)

I absolutely LOVE silly/stupid words.

In fact, I am such a nerd that I keep a list of my favorite words! This is part of the reason I love Dr. Seuss so much. He made up his own awesome words in his books that are so much fun to say! My favorite Dr. Seuss word is the “Snoozlephone” (it’s an instrument from how the Grinch Stole Christmas). Here is an abridged list of my favorite words: (I will keep it short, I promise)

  1. Habadashary
  2. Scuttlebutt
  3. Hoopla (spongebob episode)
  4. Crapulous
  5. Indubitably
  6. Debachery
  7. Modge podge
  8. Jubilation
  9. Comeuppance
  10. Behoove
  11. Shindig

100 Facts about Myself- Day 1

Art is my passion.

I don’t know what it is about art that I find so therapeutic, but it has always been a reliable tool when my life has gone insane or I am a complete emotional wreck.  Not just creating art is interesting, but I love learning about art history by visiting museums too.  There is something captivating to me about being able to create whatever you want.  There is no right or wrong answer or interpretation, so art can become anything.  Art transcends my ability to put certain things into words.  For example: sometimes it is easier for me to show you how I am feeling through a piece rather explaining how I feel.  I don’t know why this is.  I would put some of art on tumblr, but I don’t want it to get stolen and lose the credit for it.  Some of my favorite artists are Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Dali, M.C. Escher, and Van Gough, just in case you were wondering :)
